Der hupende Autofahrer – Eine Charakterisierung

Oh Mia,

Rest in peace Mia. Your loss saddens us all. I hope we in New Zealand can learn from your passing.

I have also cycled most of New Zealand and shared your concerns and fears. I never met you, but throughout New Zealand we mourn you:

My heart goes out to Mia’s family and her friends. This last blog entry unfortunately describes the situation on New Zealand’s roads in a chilling, but nevertheless correct way. As a society, we have a lot to learn. I hope that this tragic case adds to our learning.

Rest in peace, Mia.

I was so saddened to learn of your death, Mia. I too hope that this country will finally wake up and realise that our roads are for sharing, every person on them precious. Perhaps one day cyclists will (politely of course) push truck drivers off the roads.

Rest in peace.

Rest in peace, Mia. I have often commented on the poor driving habits in this country, especially compared with Germany, where I have driven quite a lot. It is heart-breaking to know that this is what took you from this world, far too early.

Firstly I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to parents, family and friends of Mia. The cause of Mia’s death was the materialisation of the very threat she wrote publicly about only days before the accident.

The inconsiderate behaviour of truck drivers is shocking and must change.

Mia’s last blog entry should be made mandatory reading for all truckies in New Zealand. I appeal to all transport companies and the ministry of transport to get it translated and printed out. It should make the truckies and other drivers realise that a life was cut short, totally unnecesary and that this should never happen again.

If with spreading Mia’s blog around another life is saved, she has not died in vain. My thoughts go out to her family.

Mia’s death brings me much sadness ;-(
For someone so young, adventurous and full of enjoying life in a heathy way to be killed so senselessly is a terrible waste.

I too do a lot of cycling on NZ roads (but always around Auckland – training and racing and some commuting) and know how some of our drivers just shouldn’t be allowed on the roads in a motorvehicle.

Condolences to Mia’s friends and family and may she rest in peace, Paul 😉

So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you
Yeah, I miss you

So far away from where you are
Standing underneath the stars
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they’d mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

I feel the beating of your heart
I see the shadows of your face
Just know that wherever you are
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they’d mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here
